Responding Heads MecArm
October 5, 2009 by Sam Sam
This is a voice controlled mechanical arm, with a camera attached on it's wrist, it could detect objects of different colours and follow them. We also built in a small inclincation sensor which would level the hand, to enable a more firm grip. The software was programmed in Visual basic whilst the hardware was controlled though a homemade relay-based interface connected to the LPT port of the motherboard. The robot won several prizes and whent on to accept the Sony sponsor award at the national science fair in Stockholm.
